Open Houses & Tours

Choosing a school for your child is a big decision. We hope that by outlining our Admissions process, you will have the information you need, as together we begin the steps of making a commitment to each other.

If you are interested in sending your child to Peninsula, the first step is to visit the school, observe classes, and meet by appointment with the Admissions Director.  Below is information about attending an Open House and/or a School Tour.

How does peninsula decide who to admit?

Parents, students and Peninsula all share the desire for our school and your child to be a match. Some of the things that we take into consideration are:

  • Nursery children must be potty-trained and 3 years old by the end of September

  • Kindergarten children must be 5 years old by the end of October.

  • Age and maturity of child in relation to age range in the group

  • Number of openings at each age/grade level

  • Gender balance in each class

  • Diversity: ethnic, cultural, socio-economic, family composition, racial identity, sexual orientation

While alumni status and other associations with Peninsula School are important criteria considered in the admission decision, they are not deciding factors alone.

If you have questions, please contact the Admissions Director by phone at 650-325-1584 ext. 144 or email Admissions.
