Enrichment Program

We are excited to present our new Peninsula School Enrichment Program for 2024-25! This playful endeavor includes different options, ranging from arts and crafts to science, and sports. Offerings will change each session. We look forward to engaging with you and your children who are currently enrolled in Peninsula School in this fun after-school environment!

All Enrichment classes begin at 3:00pm and end at 4:15pm. Our teachers will offer fresh fruits and veggies at the beginning of the class. Feel free to pack extra snacks for your child as well.

Pick up will take place on the Front Porch of the Big Building from 4:15-4:20pm. If not picked up by 4:20pm, your child will be signed into our regular Childcare Program at the drop-in rate.

Participants have the option to choose between an Enrichment Class on its own, or an Enrichment Class plus Childcare combo. Each Enrichment Class meets once a week, and all materials are included.

Winter Enrichment Options

Cooking

Cooking with Shu

Students will learn how to prepare a delicious meal of their choice! Shu was a vegetarian for a decade, and has lived in Japan, China, Italy, Germany, and the Czech Republic, and cooked food extensively in each country. This class will talk about food and Shu will assist children with creating the menu and delicious meals. Yum!

Drama

Drama Games & Scene Study w/ Alexandra

Join Alexandra to play some drama games, uncover characters, and get comfortable on stage. For some students, getting on stage is easy as pie, for others, it might feel really risky. We will work together to build trust and safety so stepping into the spotlight feels like a big yes. As we develop our acting muscles, we will also begin a scene study. We will analyze, recreate, adjust, memorize lines and blocking, then perform the scene for each other and maybe even a wider audience. This class will be a fun mixture or games and getting serious about a character.

Wind & Solar Power

Explorations in Renewable Energy: Wind & Solar Power w/ Malcolm

Explorations We will explore principles of physics and the engineering design process through the lens of wind and solar energy. We will be designing, constructing, and testing small wind turbines and solar devices to power small examples, such as a model house, ferris wheel, phone charging tree, or lifting weights. Depending on student interest, small teams or individuals may be able to enter various online or in-person engineering and/or art competitions, including opportunities with the KidWind Project.

Ultimate Frisbee

Ultimate Frisbee w/ Malcolm

Spend Monday afternoons playing Ultimate Frisbee with Malcolm, and possibly other adults! We will spend part of our time improving our basic skills and learning game strategies, and the rest practicing lessons learned while having fun in active scrimmages on the Big Field.

Session Info

There will be three sessions throughout the school year. There will be a maximum number of students per class. Register for the enrichment class only, or the enrichment class plus childcare combo.

Classes start at 3:00 pm and finish at 4:15 pm. Our teachers will offer fresh fruits and veggies at the beginning of the class. Feel free to pack extra snacks for your child as well.

Please note: There will be no Enrichment Programs on holidays, in-service days, minimum days, or half days. Class dates are listed for each class below.

Billing & Refunds

Billing: Billing will occur before the start of each session and invoices are payable upon receipt. Invoices must be paid before the first session in order for the student to attend.

Refunds: We do not provide refunds for missed classes. Participants who need to cancel will receive a 100% refund if they cancel over seven (7) days before the start of the session. Within 7 days of the start of session, no refunds will be issued unless the course is cancelled. There will be no refunds for missed classes.
