Katy,
I am pleased that you have gotten this up and running. The previous thrust in Progressive Education came about because people were communicating their ideas, then gathering, and agreeing to move forward. Historically things seem to repeat themselves within a 100 year cycle in this country, I think that indeed the time is right to begin again, a fresh start for the 21st century.

Over the last 2-3 years, I've been running into more and more educators who identify with Deweyan progressive education. So, yes! The time is right.
Of course there are lots of educators who want to do what's best for students. But progressive education provides some particular criteria with which to cultivate worthwhile teaching and learning.
Thanks to Carlye Nelson-Major for connecting me with this national network. I am also very interested in meeting other progressive educators from the Philly area.

Gamal--
You have an interesting web site. Tell everyone about this network. We need your kind of enthusiasm.
