A Note About Tuition and Diversity

We often are asked, “Why doesn’t the school just raise tuition so that we don’t have to work so hard to fund raise?”  The answer to that question is simple: We value community. We value the richness that comes from cultural and socioeconomic diversity.  And we are committed to finding and retaining families who appreciate and are a good fit for our brand of progressive education.  We never would want a family who belongs at Peninsula School to be turned away due to lack of money.  Compared to other private schools, Peninsula is incredibly conservative in its spending and is able to offer one of the lowest private N-8 tuitions in the Bay Area.  Although we could increase tuition and offer more financial aid, ultimately many middle-income families would be priced out of our school.

There is a garden in every childhood, an enchanted place
where colors are brighter, the air softer, and the morning
more fragrant than ever again.
